Creating Revenue with Podcasts

Podcasting can make money for you, some people have been able to turn their podcasts into revenue-generating machines and it isn’t as complicated as it sounds.

However, it does involve a little effort and once of luck and some supportive subscribers.

There are several ways to make money with podcasts, we will focus on two of them.

The content or subject matter of you Podcast will determine how you use the following ideas.

*** Corporate sponsors.

If your Podcast gains in popularity you may be able to gain the support of major sponsors.
Many popular podcasts gain substantial revenue from commercial sponsors in return for you placing their ads in your Podcast.

But how do you find commercial sponsors?

Firstly, your Podcast should have an active listening audience, clearly a sponsor will only be interested if they can see the potential for a return on their investment.
If your Podcast is widely known then commercial sponsors might approach you, but generally you will need to prepare a proposal complete with relevant details on your Podcast and seek out those sponsors that you believe would be a best fit for you.

*** Donations and Subscriptions.

Your podcast may also earn through donations.
Whilst this seems an unlikely source of revenue good and popular Popular podcasts let people download episodes for free, however you can ask these people for a donation.
If your Podcast is popular enough these donations can over time become significant.

This type of revenue return may not be as consistent as a corporate sponsor but should your subcriber list be of some size then good returns are possible.
Setting up a donation page on your web site, is somewhat easier then looking for a corporate sponsor so it is definitely an option to consider.

Another option is to make your podcasts subscription-based - meaning that people have to pay to download your podcasts.

You could, alternately, post some of your content for free, and leave some of your content for subscription. The free content serves to drum up interest in your podcast-leading people to subscribe to other episodes out of curiosity.

It’s all about understanding the market and your subcribers interest, determine this and then you can make the best choice as to how to create revenue from your Podcast.

Everyone is talking about it but what is it really?

Primarily it’s about retailing online and there are some real interesting points you should consider.

But what does it all mean?

Firstly you should focus on keywords and content to get all the searches possible to your site.
People do search differently so you must consider all keywords that relate to you.

An example is a hobby site. Imagine the “length of the tail” in how many keywords that could be.
Everything from backyards to zebras. It’s the length of the tail when all of those keywords are connected that can bring you more business.

Think about a big tail on a huge animal, it covers a lot of ground and gets your attention especially when it’s connected to an alligator!

So to coin a phrase, “get your tail moving” and leave no rocks unturned.

Some search for refrigerators and for some it is an ice box or the fridge. Think about what people name things in other parts of the world that are the same thing in your world.

In keyword research it is easy to spot and grow niches.
Low search counts at the top 3 search engines can mean business for you when there is no competition.
Use Wordtracker to find out what these less used search engine searches can do for you.
So what if there are only 6 searches a month for an item; if you happen to sell that item and no one else does, you want that business.

The long tail of search phrases will build traffic. You can not count on 80% of your traffic coming from 20% of your top used keywords based on readings at Google. Because competition for highly used words is so big, long tail marketing makes perfect sense.

If you are an Adsense publisher, imagine how many more relative ads you could display on all of those new low competition keyword pages. It is the total searches from all of those less used words that make using them worthwhile.

Create your content with a broader base of keywords to see the effect. Watch your site stats and be amazed at all of the new search terms you’ll be found with. Many will tell you more content or more products would be easy to market.

With search engines today it is all about content and keywords, and Google flat out says so in their webmaster guidelines. Long tail marketing is real easy with search engines. All you have to do is know the words people use.



Affiliate Sales Can Be Profitable

Many internet marketers are making a lot of money promoting affiliate products.

You don’t have to develop your own products, set up downloads if it’s an infoproduct, or respond to other problems people may have.

You don’t deal with refunds.

You can spend your time marketing.

Not everyone, however, is successful in this arena. So how do I increase my chances of success?

If you implement some of the following strategies you just may find that your affiliate sales increase dramatically.

The first thing you want to do is make absolutely sure the product you promote is a good product and worth the money. If they did not make an immediate purchase, you have a much better chance of selling them something later.

You can recommend other affiliate products to them that are in line with the original product they were interested in. As mentioned earlier, you are now an expert in their view.

When it comes to making money on the Internet there is no shortage of ways to do it. Of course if you have a product of your own that is the best place to start. What if you do not have a product of your own?

Here are a few ways you can sell stuff online with affiliate marketing to make money for yourself.

* Affiliate Programs. Getting paid to sell other people’s products is the quickest way to get going that I have found. Affiliate marketing has been around for over 10 years now and many people look at Amazon.com as one of the first companies to sell products this way.

You can make money selling clicks such as with Google Adsense. You can make money selling leads with affiliate programs like Max Bounty. You can make money selling products. One such way is to sell information products like you would find at ClickBank.

Another thing you can do is affiliate program directories like AssociatePrograms.com or Commissions Junction where they have compiled some of the best products to sell in one place.

* One way to make money online is to sell memberships. This can be done through both affiliate marketing as well as network marketing. Getting paid over and over for making one sale is called residual income.

Back to paid memberships. Products that can be accessed online and offer value to your customer are great to sell. Paid memberships fit this description. Subscriptions on how to run a home business, personal development, paid newsletters on every subject imaginable, website hosting, autoresponders, and just about anything you can think of, offer you a chance to create residual income.

Two tier programs where you get paid on the sales of people you recruit work great for paid membership programs as well. Of course network marketing falls into this category and can even be better because you can make money every month on the sales of a large group of people.

The key with most paid subscription programs is you make a little bit of money on every sale. The first month this may not amount to much. The second month it can be more. In a year it can be quite a lot. Kind of like compound interest if you know how that works.
